Living under commonwealth: Puerto Rico in the 1970’s

Do you know how it feels not being able to have any say living under the government? All Americans know how it feels to live under government say but we citizens have some say when it comes to elections and being able to vote. The United States government approved Public Law 600 which allowed Puerto Rico to create their own constitution. In 1952 the island of Puerto Rico was put under commonwealth. Puerto Rico only has one governor that is elected by the House of Representatives. Being under commonwealth there were many restrictions the citizens of Puerto Rico were not allowed to vote even though there is a resident commissioner that represents the island they still have no vote. In the early 70’s people who lived on farms and grew sugar cane, coffee was greatly affected by the new industries growing, new products were developing and being manufactured in these industries. My grandmother Monserate Rivera who was born and raised in Puerto Rico lived on a farm was one who was affected.

  1. Nice title, great hyperlink, and very good embedded photo (but it needs a caption!)

Change "Work Cited" to Works Cited" (plural).

Right now, on the Works Cited page, "History of Puerto Rico" is on the same line as your personal interview entry, which is confusing. Be sure to separate each entry with extra space, so it's easy to see how many sources you have.
